Franchini Acciai offers a wide range of high quality forgings, technology-oriented and innovative solutions. Since 1992 Franchini´s has adopted a Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 (audited by DNV-GL). Since 2011 Franchini is also certified according to ASME section III NCA 3800 (material organization).
Laboratory, inspections and testing
Qualified and highly trained technical staff is performing destructive and non-destructive product tests using state-of-the-art equipment.
DESTRUCTIVE TESTS
Sestructive tests are carried out in our internal laboratory that is able to perform all kind of mechanical property tests as well as metallurgical and chemical analyses.
NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTS

- UT/Ultrasonic Test (manual and automatic Ultrasonic Testing);
- MT/Magnetic Particle Test;
- PT/ Dye Penetrant Test.
HEAT STABILITY TEST
15 years ago Franchini Acciai was one of the first forging companies to acquire state-of-the-art equipment to execute the Heat Stability Test on rotors for steam or gas turbines.
The HST is verifying the rotor heat stability during the thermal cycle under high temperatures. During the execution of the test a computer is monitoring the temperature and recording dimensional variations.
Franchini Acciai has 2 HST machines and can handle rotors up to a weight 40 tons.
It is planned to design a new machine for rotors up to 80 t.
